The UBER project team represents a wealth of expertise and experience in restoration and renovation of historic and modern structures. Our abilities in construction and restoration engineering are complemented by superior craftsmanship, capabilities in developing innovative solutions and the ability to effectively manage and complete client projects. Our team has extensive experience working with structural engineers, architects and other design specialists to provide a turn-key approach to projects of any size.

Jennifer Simons, President

Currently on extended medical leave, we pray for her speedy recovery and return to UBER as she is able.

Jennifer joined UBER in 2015 with the desire to build and lead a team to become the most sought after masonry restoration contractor in the DC metropolitan area. Her “Passion for Preservation” and dedication to client and employee satisfaction make for a winning combination to build a competent, skillful and dependable restoration company.  The growth plan for UBER is strong, but also calculated. With the company’s support and sponsorship of various associations, Jennifer is a believer that engagement with other passionate individuals in this industry will lead to a business full of mutually rewarding opportunities and successes.

Jennifer obtained her degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, in the hometown where she grew up.

Alexandra (Alex) Paolucci-Herbert, Estimator/General Manager

Alexandra has 27 years of experience in construction project development and management. Prior to joining UBER, Alexandra held project management positions with Atlantic Refinishing & Restoration, Inc. and AVSmoot, LLC. Her expertise in procurement and management of significant restoration projects is evidenced by her work on institutional and commercial buildings. Some of her favorite projects with UBER include: the rostral columns at Union Station, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and the Patterson Mansion.

Gary Schue, General Superintendent

Gary has worked in construction since the summer of 1969 and graduated from George Mason University in 1974. In 1974 Gary began working in masonry with United Masonry and went on to open his own masonry company, GC Schue Inc., in 1985. In 2009 Gary decided to close GC Schue Inc. to work as a masonry consultant for large masonry companies completing marquis masonry projects all around the Mid-Atlantic region. In 2018 Gary brought his unique skillset in both new and historic masonry to United Building Envelope Restoration working as General Superintendent.

Thane Timbers, Estimator

Thane has 12 years of experience in construction management and estimating, with noted expertise in planning and executing large scale brick and stone masonry projects. Prior to joining UBER he held positions as superintendent, project manager and masonry estimator with Miller Brothers, Inc., Paul Davis Restoration and Calvert Masonry. Thane provides UBER and its customers with outstanding skills in collaborative project planning, cost-effective budgeting and scheduling and effective project management from start to finish.


  

Eric Deitz, Project Manager

Eric has 3 years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on masonry. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in historic preservation from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and has developed an understanding of project management at all stages of construction, including start-up documents, scheduling and planning throughout the job. Currently, Eric is managing the Columbia Place Apartments and Hotel projects which include restoration work in 8 historic buildings as well as new masonry work. Additionally, Eric managed a stone restoration and cleaning project at 908 King Street in Old Town Alexandria.

Kevin Berkoski, Project Coordinator

Kevin Berkoski has over 7 years of experience in the masonry construction business, with expertise in coordinating projects from initial design, planning, estimating, scheduling, through completion. He brings skills and experience in interacting with and managing tradesmen and subcontractors, ensuring that work schedules are met and project objectives are successfully reached.

Porfirio Munoz, Superintendent

Porfirio has over 20 years of experience in the masonry industry. Beginning in San Marcos, Guatemala, he studied at the Spencer W. Kimball Institute of Technology until 1994. In 1995, Porfirio began work as a masonry laborer in Manassas, Virginia, and was promoted to a foreman three years later. This past year, in 2016, UBER elected Porfirio to be a superintendent, which is his role today. Porfirio divides his time between all of UBER’s busy jobsites and uses his advanced technical experience to direct and advise all of our foremen.
